As one of Northeast Florida’s most revered cultural institutions, the Symphony reaches over 113,000 individuals through over 125 performances every season in its acoustically superior home of Jacoby Symphony Hall and in venues throughout the state of Florida.

Founded in 1949, the Symphony enjoys a national reputation and is regularly heard on more than 250 public radio stations across the country on Performance Today. Combined with performances aired on Jacksonville’s public radio station WJCT and the organization’s streaming program, the Symphony reaches over 60,000 individuals through these digital channels.

In its commitment to providing musical access to all, the Symphony serves four county school districts and over 35,000 students through several programs that foster music education. The Symphony is also home to over 300 students who participate in the Jacksonville Symphony Youth Orchestras (JSYO). Two community concerts (free and open to the public) kick off the season, and ensembles visit nursing homes, libraries, schools and other locations across North Florida to spread the love of music. As a pioneer of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion initiatives, the Symphony further builds upon its robust, strategic plan for DEI growth, making musical opportunities reflective of and accessible to all.

With the help of dedicated resources supporting the Symphony, the organization fulfills its mission to inspire, enrich and uplift lives through symphonic music.
