Jacksonville Symphony Usher Scholarship
The Jacksonville Symphony is proud to announce a $500 Usher Scholarship opportunity to students interested in symphonic music and/or the performing arts. To receive this award, applicants must be willing to provide excellent customer service to Symphony patrons by performing ushering duties at a variety of Symphony events.
Eligible students must be enrolled in high school or college and currently residing in Duval and its surrounding counties in Jacksonville, FL. Preference will be given to those who were active volunteers with the Jacksonville Symphony in past seasons.
There are five scholarships available for the 2024/25 Season. Those chosen will be required to complete a two-hour Usher Training Program prior to their first concert shift and usher 10 full performances in Jacoby Symphony Hall, giving knowledgeable, friendly and personal service to our patrons at all times. The scholarship award will be given upon completion of the 10 required performances.
Scholarship recipients will choose their preferred 10 concert shifts from a list of select performances provided at the Usher Training. At the end of the 2024/25 Season, recipients will submit a brief overview of their experience and how it contributed to their overall education and development.
2024/25 Season applications are closed and will reopen in the summer of 2025 for the 2025/26 Season.
