Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

The Jacksonville Symphony's mission is to enrich the human spirit through symphonic music. We are committed to fostering a culture that values and embraces diversity, equity & inclusion. These core values will be reflected in the makeup of our patrons, orchestra, professional staff and board as we mirror the community we serve. We pledge to engage in culturally responsive performances, education and community initiatives. Our strategic plan will be the guidepost for accountability as we achieve our goals.

Jacksonville Symphony's Strategic Plan

The Jacksonville Symphony's Strategic Plan sets an ambitious agenda through June 2026 while aligning the business model with the needs of a premiere orchestra in a region experiencing tremendous growth.

Emerging from the pandemic, this plan sets out an agenda of investment in the Jacksonville Symphony and its programming; an embrace of diversity, equity, and inclusion as the cornerstone of the Orchestra's growth and development; and a commitment to acquire the financial resources necessary to enhance the Orchestra's already high-quality service to its community while building financial sustainability.

The Strategic Plan lays out a path to balance innovative and traditional programming, grow the Orchestra's audience, expand music education, cultivate supporters, and recruit volunteers for long-term engagement.

The Strategic Plan provides tools to track progress - and to make adjustments in the ever-changing environment that all orchestras find themselves in.
