Katherine Kincaid
Mezzo-soprano
Katherine is a mezzo-soprano from Jacksonville, Florida. She is thrilled to be making her house debut with the Jacksonville Symphony as Mércèdes in Carmen. Katherine has performed with the Indianapolis Opera, Toledo Opera, First Coast Opera, Moon River Opera, MIOpera, Maryland Opera Studio, National Orchestral Institute, Seagle Music Colony, and Oberlin in Italy. This past summer, she performed with the Moon River Opera in their anniversary performance of Improv Opera V, as well as with the MIOpera as Ruth in The Pirates of Penzance. She recently was a resident artist at the Indianapolis Opera, where she sang the roles of the Announcer in Gallantry, the Social Worker in the mid-western premiere of Veteran Journeys, and Third Lady in Die Zauberflöte. Last season, she performed in Die Fledermaus with the First Coast Opera, where she sang the role of Sally and premiered a new aria. In 2021, Katherine completed the resident artist program at the Toledo Opera where she made her professional debut as Flora in La Traviata. She graduated from the University of Maryland with a Master of Music in Opera, and Florida State University with a Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance. Her other past roles include Dorabella (Così fan tutte), Kate Julian (Owen Wingrave), Ramiro (La finta giardiniera), Orphée (Orphée et Euridice), and Mrs. Lowe (The Manchurian Candidate). Katherine is also a classically trained pianist and accomplished singer/songwriter. She has self-produced original music and performed at venues around Nashville, Jacksonville, Toledo, and Savannah.
