Stephanie Magnus

Equally at home in a performance venue or classroom, Stephanie K Magnus has been an active bassoonist in the North Florida region since relocating to Jacksonville in 2016. She has enjoyed performing with many Florida and Georgia orchestras and is excited to join the Jacksonville Symphony for the duration of the 2022-2023 season. In addition to a Bachelor’s degree from the Chicago College of Performing Arts (2008) under Dennis Michel and a Master’s degree from Southern Methodist University (2011) under Wilfred Roberts, she earned a Master’s in Musicology and Literature (2012) also from SMU. When she is not performing or teaching at Jacksonville University or University of North Florida, she can be found fixing up her historic Springfield home, training for a marathon or camping with her husband, fellow Jacksonville Symphony cellist Brian Magnus, and two dogs.
