Jordan Brokken
Principal Bassoon
Jordan Brokken joined the Jacksonville Symphony as Principal Bassoon in January 2025. During the summer, he is the Principal Bassoon of the Central City Opera in Colorado and has attended the Tanglewood and Aspen Music festivals. Prior to his time in Jacksonville, he served in this role with the Charleston Symphony. He has performed as Guest Principal Bassoon with the Los Angeles Philharmonic and Atlanta Symphony. A native of Houston Texas, Brokken received his Undergraduate and Graduate degrees from the Colburn Conservatory in Los Angeles where he studied with Richard Beene. His other major teacher was Whitney Crockett. During the pandemic, Brokken was a founding member of the Monarch Chamber Players in Houston, Texas. This group produced and performed over 150 outdoor, socially distanced concerts while he was a member.
