What do you want patrons of the Symphony to know about you?
I really like whacky socks. Sadly, I can’t wear them in concert with a tux.

Do you have any pre-concert rituals or routines?
We have an amazing emergency exit stairwell located right behind the hall that some of us brass musicians like to warm-up in. So if you ever walk down the balcony corridor and are wondering why you can hear a trumpet or trombone coming thru an emergency exit door, that’s likely me in part of my pre-concert routine.

What teacher, mentor or other influencer inspired you the most?
It’s impossible to pick just one person that has influenced and inspired me throughout my career thus far. All of my teachers and mentors have inspired me in their own special ways and continue to do so to this day.

What do you do in your spare time?
I love cooking and photography and sometimes those go hand-in-hand if something I made looks exceptionally great.

What has been your favorite moment on stage?
So far my favorite moment on stage has been playing Bruckner’s 6th Symphony with the Boston Symphony and Andris Nelsons.

Who is your favorite composer?
There’s something uniquely colorful about Ravel, simplistic about Bruckner, and perfect with Brahms. All 3 of these consistently take top spots for me.
