Brian Osborne’s father also played the trumpet and got Brian started on a musical career. He occasionally uses his boat to come to work.
What do you want patrons of the Symphony to know about you?
Enjoying life with my three beautiful girls, wife Amber, and my daughters Ella and Ava Gray. I am an avid sailor and enjoy bringing the boat to work downtown when I can.
What would you be doing if you weren’t a professional musician?
Charter captain on a large sailboat or cruise ship.
What do you do in your spare time (other than practice!)?
I teach trumpet at UNF and Jacksonville University, Instrumental Director at First Presbyterian Church, and work on some investment property
What is your favorite thing about being a professional musician?
The constant exposure to art and artists in so many different varieties and venues.
What sport(s) do you participate in?
Sailing, Golf, and I’ve just started Pilates although you wouldn’t know it by looking at me….
Do you have a favorite team?
I am an avid NFL football fan and follow the Jaguars as well as the NY Giants
What is your favorite food?
Whatever I’m cooking on the Big Green. I am on a BBQ team that does some competitions to support various charities.
Who is your favorite composer?
Whatever one is in front of me. Right now I’m leaning to more modern music such as Zipkovich, and some progressive classical works.
What are you currently listening to?
Ray Charles, Bill Frisell Quartet, Phish, Dubstep, and some works coming up for this season.
