Dear JSYO Family and Community,
Good news! We are extending our application and submission deadline to July 6.
If you have any friends and/or family who thought it was too late to audition, it is not!
All processes and procedures you may have received in previous communications stay the same. You now just have more time to do it. Our portal will be up soon, so keep a close eye on your email in the coming days. As soon as you can begin your upload process, we will let you know.
Thank you again for your patience. The only action you need to take right now is to make sure you have filled out the application form, practice your music, and wait for the notification that our online portal is live. We look forward to hearing from each of you!
Sincerely,
Deanna Tham

Dear JSYO audition applicants,
Thank you for your patience as we transition to an online video submission model for our auditions on such a short timeline. We appreciate you bearing with us as we work as quickly as we can to organize our video upload portal.
As soon as our video portal becomes active with Acceptd, a mass email will go out with detailed instructions about how to proceed. In the coming days, we will also be posting video guides about how to record a quality audition on our social media sites. These guides will also be provided on our Acceptd page when it becomes live.
While the minutia of the process are still being worked out with our third party provider, Acceptd, here is some general information about what the process will look like:
1. You may record your video at any time. The online portal is only for video upload. There is no live video through the portal. You could record your video today, save it, and then upload it when the portal becomes active. The only time requirement is that all of this is done before our June 15 deadline.
2. As soon as the portal goes up, you will need to go into our Acceptd page and create a profile. You will then be walked through the process and be able to upload your videos.
3. Record your solo piece and excerpts first. Those will be the initial portion of the video audition. This can be recorded together in one video or split into two videos — this is your preference.
4. After you submit your excerpt and solo videos, Acceptd will send you an email with your scale and sight reading requirements. You will then have 24 hours to video-record this portion and upload those videos. This will be 24 hours from the time you hit SUBMIT on your first set of videos.
JUMP START STRINGS APPLICANTS
As soon as the Acceptd portal goes up, you will be able to use it to schedule your interview with Mr. Song.
Finally, please be advised that there will be a nominal $15 application fee this year. We are not raising our yearly tuition for any groups, and must supplement our use of this third party portal. This being said, Acceptd does offer fee waivers for families with need. You can supply free school meal vouchers, proof of unemployment, etc. particularly during this hard time. If Acceptd is not waiving your fee, you can also talk to us directly and we will work with you on a case by case basis. We appreciate your understanding.
Thank you again for your patience! The only action you need to take right now is to practice your music and wait for the notification that our online portal is live. We look forward to hearing from each of you!
Stay safe,
