James’ superb musicianship and professionalism have landed him gigs with some of the top artists in the music business.

In addition to a successful performance career, James Hogan is also a renowned Music Educator. James was a Senior Faculty Instructor at The National Guitar Workshop’s Florida, Connecticut, Nashville, Washington D.C. and SUNY Purchase campuses from 1998-2012. Currently, James Hogan is an Adjunct Professor of Guitar at The University Of North Florida and at Florida State College in Jacksonville, FL where he has been on staff since 2000. Additionally, Hogan teaches seminars across the U.S. and abroad each year and has articles published in Guitar Player, Premier Guitar & Riff magazines. James is a top instructor, featured performer and “Master Mentor” at the annual Crown Guitar Festival in Big Fork, Montana. James Hogan holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Jazz Performance (Summa Cum Laude) from the highly acclaimed University Of North Florida Jazz Performance program where he was a Collegiate Downbeat Award winner, full scholarship recipient and private student of jazz legend Bunky Green, renowned pianist Kevin Bales & jazz guitar virtuoso Barry Greene.
