Goliath Flores
Where Goliath Flores was born and raised, Los Angeles CA, is also the place where he discovered music. A lifelong composer and instrumentalist, Goliath is known for playing various musical styles. His joy for learning how to play instruments has lead him to be a multi-instrumentalist. He’s played and recorded with the guitar, piano, accordion, cello, Latin and Middle Eastern percussion, the clarinet, and various flutes from around the world, including the Duduk with its haunting sound.
Goliath is best known for his unique brand of original music, and his selection of cover songs are arranged to fit his style.
Goliath studied under Andres Segovia protege and founder of the Fort Worth Classical Guitar Society, Chris McGuire while in Dallas, Texas. Chris’s mastery over the classical guitar made him Goliath’s most influential guitar teacher.
Goliath studied theory and compositino of music at North Lake Community College where he went on to receive a scholarship to Jacksonville University in Florida.
Film scoring being a longtime interest of Goliath’s, he landed a role in composing the original film score for California Winter, filmed on location in Los Angeles about a family struggling through the housing crisis of 2008.
Goliath currently resides in Jacksonville, FL. And is a professional performing musician as well as a private music teacher. Some notable people that he’s performed for are General Norman Schwartzcopf, business magnate and owner of the Jacksonville Jaguars, Shad Khan. Goliath has also performed for companies such as Ebay, Lockheed Martin. And at events such as the Swanee Music Festival, the Jacksonville Jazz Festival, The Sheriffs Convention of Florida, Fundraisers, Weddings, and even Funerals.
Goliath also spent twenty years playing for patients in hospitals with the impactful and highly regarded organization Body & Soul – The Art of Healing, founded by Jacksonville Symphony Tubaist, James Jenkins.
