Please arrive at Jacoby Symphony Hall in the Times-Union Center for the Performing Arts 60 minutes prior to your scheduled audition time, to check-in and obtain a warm-up room.

Enter the Times-Union Center, located at 300 Water Street, Jacksonville, Florida 32202 via the Main Entrance on Water Street. Your prompt arrival is greatly appreciated as we will do our best to stay on schedule.

Please note, the Jacksonville Symphony will not be responsible for any travel, hotel, parking or other costs you may incur associated with the audition.

About the Jacksonville Symphony

Benefits for all 2022-2023 orchestra positions include:
  • 40-week season 
  • 2022-2023 season annual associate salary is $56,952.80, this includes an Electronic Media Guarantee of $300.00 
  • Health Insurance coverage through Florida Blue  
  • Dental, Life, Instrument, and Long-Term Disability Insurance 
  • Up to 12-week paid maternity/paternity leave 
  • 3 weeks paid vacation per season 
  • Eight personal services, per season, accumulating to 12

Since the 2017-2018 season, the annual base compensation has increased by 14.3%.


The audition committee reserves the right to dismiss immediately any candidates not meeting the highest artistic standards. The winning candidate will be required to present proof of his/her legal eligibility to work in the United States. If the position is won by a member of the Jacksonville Symphony, runner(s)-up may be offered the resulting opening.


There is metered parking on Pearl Street, alongside the hall that takes debit cards, with a 2 hour limit that can be renewed. There is also a parking lot directly across the street from the hall.


Food trucks setup for lunch time on Hogan Street (just around the corner from the hall). There are also many other choices within walking distance around Downtown Jacksonville. The Bread and Board is highly recommended, on 100 W. Bay Street.
