Unbridled Passion… Captured on CD!
The much-anticipated CD release of Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana has arrived. In its first-ever commercial recording, the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra is joined by the Jacksonville Symphony Chorus, The Jacksonville Children’s Chorus, soprano Andrea Matthews, tenor Christopher Pfund and baritone Kurt Loft Willett.

JSO Music Director and Principal Conductor Fabio Mechetti is excited about the recording. “The sheer force and power of Carmina Burana makes it one of the most popular and timeless works ever written. It’s also wonderful to include the Jacksonville Symphony Chorus and the Jacksonville Children’s Chorus,” said Mechetti.

Funding for the project has been provided by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida, Robert and Monica Jacoby, and Symphony support groups BRASS (Beaches Residents Actively Supporting the Symphony) and ARIAS (Amelia Residents in Action for the Symphony).
