Sofia Every (Cello)
Member of the JSO: Since 1998
Education: Bachelor's and Master's degrees from New England Conservatory
Performance experience: Sofia Every earned her Bachelor's and Master's degrees from New England Conservatory, where she studied with Laurence Lesser. She has performed at the Tanglewood Music Center, the New York String Orchestra Seminar, and Marlboro Music Festival. She was a recipient of the Presser Foundation Award, as well as a finalist at Young Concert Artists, and a participant of the Tchaikovsky and Naumburg competitions. Before joining the JSO, Sofia was a member of the New World Symphony. She is now a member of the Iris Orchestra, and performs every summer at the Grand Teton Music Festival in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
Family: Sofia is married to JSO Principal Timpanist Ken Every. The couple lives in Avondale with their son Miles, daughter Elena and dog Wilson.
