Sofia Every (Cello)
Member of the JSO: Since 1998
Education: Bachelor's and Master's degrees from New England Conservatory
Performance experience: Sofia has performed at the Tanglewood Music Center, the New York String Orchestra Seminar and the Marlboro Music Festival. She has been featured as soloist with orchestras in Boston and São Paulo, an in chamber and solo recitals in Brazil, Germany and the United States. Before joining the JSO, she served as the principal cellist of the New World Symphony.
Family: Sofia is married to JSO Principal Timpanist Ken Every. The couple lives in Avondale with their son Miles, daughter Elena and dog Wilson. During the summer, Ken and Sofia perform at the Grand Teton Music Festival in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
Hobbies: Triathlons, hiking, cooking. She also blogs for www.freshfoodunderground.com.
