Kenneth Every (Timpani)
Member of the JSO: Since 1992
Education: Bachelor's from the Curtis Institute of Music and Master's from the Cleveland Institute of Music
Musical training: Began “when I was old enough to hold a stick.”
Why percussion? “My parents gave me a drum set to save the pots and pans.”
Performance experience: Ken was featured in the Jacksonville premiere of Russell Peck’s Harmonic Rhythm: Concerto for Timpani and Orchestra. Before joining the JSO, he played several years with the Radio Symphony of Italy in Turin and with the New World Symphony in Miami.
Hobbies: playing, practicing and listening to music; “I enjoy reading, cooking with my wife Sofia, gardening and yoga.”
