Jeffrey Peterson (Trombone)

Hometown: Born in Tokyo to a military family, his tenure with the Jacksonville Symphony has been his longest time anywhere.
Education: Eastman School of Music, San Diego State University and Catholic University in Washington, D.C.
Before moving to Jacksonville, Jeff was principal trombonist of the Florida West Coast Symphony, Sacramento Symphony, Orquesta Sinfonica de Madrid, and Xalapa Symphony in Mexico and co-principal trombonist of the Orlando Philharmonic and Honolulu Symphony. He also performed as a freelance musician in San Diego and Rochester. His first job as a professional musician was with the U.S. Army Blues, U.S. Army Band in Washington, D.C. He has studied with Dave Finlayson of the New York Philharmonic and other notable mentors.
Jeff lives in Avondale with his wife Lynn, owner of Synergy Studio of Avondale, and is an avid tennis player.
