Annie Morris (Violin)

Hometown: Kennett Square, Pennsylvania
Education: Bachelor of Music degree from the Eastman School of Music, where she studied with Charles Castleman.
Musical Studies: Began in second grade
Why the violin? Annie was brought up in a musical family. Her mother, an amateur violinist, inspired her to learn violin. "Her practice room was directly above my bedroom and I really admired her playing." Annie’s father and brother also played violin.
Other orchestral experience: New World Symphony, Philharmonic Orchestra of Florida, Texas Opera Theater, Houston Grand Opera, Savannah Symphony, Charleston Symphony, Delaware Symphony
Across the pond: In her travels abroad, Annie has performed at the Aims Festival in Graz, Austria; the Spoleto Festival in Italy and the Heidelberg Festival in Germany.

Favorite moment in Jacksonville Symphony history: Performing with James Taylor in Jacksonville, and on tour in Melbourne and Daytona
Favorite composer: Mozart
Pets: Sophie and Wally
Hobbies/leisure activities: Power walking in the neighborhood, playing chamber music, going to movies, shopping, and boating.
