Education: Master of Music from The Juilliard School, Professional Studies Diploma from Mannes College of Music, Bachelor of Music from Dalhousie University
Why violin? “For years I begged my parents for a violin. They gave me a Ukulele, which I put under my chin and bowed with a pencil. They caved in!”
Performance experience: Anna has performed recitals in such New York venues as Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall, Merkin Concert Hall, and Dag Hammerskjold Auditorium at the United Nations. Her orchestral background includes the Grand Teton Music Festival, Spoleto Festival – Italy, New World Symphony, Symphony Nova Scotia and Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra.
Family: Married to JSO violinist Simon Shiao. Children Alexander (born 2008) and Kate (born 2010). And a dog (cairn terrier) named Ernie.
Hobbies: Travel, cooking, gardening
