Auditions | Administrative Staff | Internships

AUDITIONS:

The Jacksonville Symphony will hold auditions for the following vacancies this fall:

Section Violin:  All rounds on Sunday, October 8; employment to begin immediately; Resumes must be received by September 1; invitations will be issued September 8; and

Second Trombone:  Prelims on Sunday, December 3;  Finals on Monday, December 4; Employment to begin January 1, 2007;

Resumes must be received by November 1; invitations will be issued November 3;

Repertoire will NOT be given out over the phone.

2006-2007 season:  $38,036, with fully paid health, instrument and disability insurance, 7% AFM pension contribution, and 3 weeks paid vacation; 37-week season runs mid-September to early June.


ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF:

There are no administrative positions available at this time.


INTERNSHIPS:

JSYO Management Intern
The JSYO Management Intern reports directly to the JSYO Orchestra Manager and is responsible for assisting in the implementation and oversight of all JSYO programs.  The Assistant Orchestra Manager of the JSYO will work directly with the JSYO Music Director, JSYO Manager, Parent Association, and JSA staff to support the JSYO’s activities and programs.

Publications & Media Intern
15-20 hours per week.  Help maintain the flow of media activity for the Jacksonville Symphony, assisting the organization both internally and externally.  Opportunity for exposure to a wide array of activities with one of the leading cultural organizations on the First Coast.  Requires good writing skills, organizational ability, creativity.  Unpaid.  Parking reimbursement provided.

Development Department Intern
15-20 hours per week.  Work to help improve the efficiency and consistency of the Department's data input and prepare a procedure notebook.  Opportunity for exposure to a wide array of activities with one of the leading cultural organizations on the First Coast.  Requires knowledge of Raiser's Edge, good communication skills.  Unpaid.  Parking reimbursement provided.
