The Jacksonville Symphony's “Classical Madness” is a head-to-head showdown of great musical works, just like the college basketball tournament.
The results are in! We began with 32 pieces in four categories. Thanks to 1,300+ Symphony fans who voted, here are the final four:
OVERTURE - MOZART: Marriage of Figaro Overture
SYMPHONIC POEM - TCHAIKOVSKY: Romeo and Juliet
AMERICAN CLASSIC - GERSHWIN: An American in Paris
SYMPHONY - MOZART: Sym. No. 38, "Prague" (mvt. 1)
These pieces will be performed at the CLASSICAL MADNESS FINAL FOUR CONCERT, conducted by Fabio Mechetti and emceed by Mike Dempsey of 1010XL jax sports radio. The applause will determine the winner! Click here to view Round 3 results.
ABOUT THE FUSION SERIES: CLASSICAL MADNESS is part of the Fusion Series. Concerts feature appetizers and live music (additional $10 per person) at 6:30 pm and a one-hour concert at 7:30 pm with variety and dialogue from the stage. Afterwards, you're invited to mingle with the musicians, conductor and guest artists in the lobby. Music by the Kelly Green Trio continues in the lobby with complimentary coffee and cash bar.
